British creative collective Boom City is back with a new episode of their documentary series, Inside Turntablists. This episode features Jimmy Penguin, an Irish turntablist and producer. He’s one of the co-founders of Galway’s Community Skratch collective and also runs the Alkalinear Recordings label.
In the episode, Penguin discusses how he’s inspired by more progressive records, like those by English musician Aphex Twin. He also highlights his deceptively simple techniques, plus how he’s successfully built both his career and the musical community that surrounds his work.
