NOODLES, the official DJ for Kehlani, has served up a half-hour of hip-hop and R&B for the DJcity Podcast. The San Francisco native is set to perform in April at Sacramento’s SOL BLUME festival alongside artists including Jhene Aiko, Goldlink, and The Internet.

DJs Should Switch Their Instagram Profile to a Business Profile

In 2016, Instagram rolled out a set of Business Tools to help companies of all sizes better understand their followers and grow their businesses.

One of the tools introduced was business profiles. Unlike personal profiles, business profiles enable companies to get insights about their followers and posts, and promote posts (run ads). Business profiles also include contact info, making it easier for customers to connect with companies.

However, many DJs have still not switched their personal profile to a business profile. Thankfully, DJ Eyecon has put together a video that explains the benefits of doing so.

Based in South Carolina, Eyecon is an official Rane DJ and former Red Bull 3Style competitor. He currently holds residencies at Malibus Surf Bar and Oz Myrtle Beach.

Watch Tinashe’s Vertical ‘Faded Love’ Video Feat. Future

Tinashe has released a vertical video for her latest single “Faded Love” featuring Future. The track was included in February’s edition of DJcity Trends.

The steamy visual, which was exclusive to Spotify over the weekend, was filmed vertically and is intended to be viewed on a mobile device. It follows Tinashe around as she dances seductively in what appears to be an abandoned warehouse.

Produced by Grammy-winning duo Stargate, “Faded Love” is set to appear on Tinashe’s forthcoming second studio album, JOYRIDE. It’s the follow-up to “No Drama” featuring Offset, the first single from the project.

Shecky Green: How DJ AM Became the Highest Paid DJ in the World

Jonathan Shecter aka “Shecky Green,” the co-founder of The Source magazine and current Editor-In-Chief for Cuepoint at Medium, was recently a guest on the Reflections of a DJ (R.O.A.D.) podcast.

A former director of programming for the Wynn, Shecky played a key role in negotiating DJ AM’s groundbreaking deal with Las Vegas’ PURE Nightclub in 2006.

During the convo, the show’s co-host Crooked asked Shecky about how he helped broker the deal. Shecky discusses how the negotiations went down and how it raised the bar for DJs going forward. He also talks about how the death of AM marked the beginning of the EDM era.

The Samples Behind 2Pac’s ‘Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z…’

Power 106’s Wax Only series has examined the samples behind 2Pac’s second studio album, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z…. The project, which is celebrating its 25-year anniversary today, is considered by many as Pac’s breakout album.

Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z… debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 in March 1993 and went on to achieve platinum status. It featured the tracks “I Get Around” and “Keep Ya Head Up,” which reached No. 11 and 12 on Billboard’s Hot 100 respectively. “I Get Around” remains a staple in DJ sets to this day.
