Watch: Behind the Scenes with DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith

After a long hiatus, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith, a.k.a. the Fresh Prince, reunited in 2017 for pair of concerts. The performances, held in Croatia and the U.K., brought the duo together after nearly two decades apart. Some behind-the-scenes footage has recently been shared, showing Jeff and Will rehearsing for their shows.

In related news, DJ Jazzy Jeff will be performing along with DJcity president Phenom at SUNBURN Pool Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego on Saturday, June 29.

Watch: Nick Bike Delivers Mini Mix for Serato

Nick Bike, a two-time Red Bull Music 3Style Vancouver champion, has put down a soulful set for Serato’s In The Mix series. His performance includes hip-hop, funk, house, and more. It also includes a number of Bike’s own edits.

The Canadian turntablist/producer is a contributor to the DJcity music team, providing exclusive tracks for the record pool. He has also been a special guest at Jazzy Jeff’s PLAYLIST Retreat.

Andreas One Releases New Single ‘Boy Bye’ Feat. B4NG B4NG on DJcity Records

Emerging DJ/producer Andreas One has released a bass house-influenced single on DJcity Records titled “Boy Bye” featuring rapper B4NG B4NG.

Based in Los Angeles, Andreas is best known for his single “We Get Down” on Laidback Luke‘s Ones To Watch Records. He’s also a mixer on SiriusXM and Pitbull’s Globalization channel.

“Boy Bye” is the second release on DJcity Records, which launched in March. The label’s first release, DJ Serg‘s “Samba” featuring Skales, peaked at No. 1 on DJcity’s record pool and currently has over 145,000 streams on Spotify.

A-Trak Announces 3rd Annual Goldie Awards

UPDATE: The 3rd Annual Goldie Awards DJ battle champion is DJ ADMC, and the beat battle champion is Lionclad.

A-Trak has announced the return of the Goldie Awards, his annual DJ and beat battle. Hopeful turntablists and producers may enter by uploading a one-minute video to Instagram or Youtube and submitting it via the Goldie Awards website along with a questionnaire.

Eight competitors will be chosen in each category, and are allowed to use whatever equipment they choose. In the past, the battle has been judged by an all-star lineup of artists including Mark Ronson, Just Blaze, Anna Lunoe, and more. The event will be held at Brooklyn Steel in New York City on October 17.
