With their latest firmware update, Denon DJ has brought streaming music to the Prime 4 standalone DJ system. The Prime 4 v1.4 firmware public beta enables internet access via either WiFi or a hardwired connection. Once connected, the controller is able to stream music from TIDAL.

Registered Prime series users and members of the v1.4 public beta will receive a free, 3-month TIDAL HiFi trial subscription.

While streaming is currently limited to the Prime 4, Denon DJ plans on bringing this feature to the SC5000 and SC5000M standalone media players in the near future.

Serato Warns Against Upgrading to macOS Catalina

Serato users should wait to upgrade to macOS Catalina. (Source: Serato)

Serato has issued a warning telling users to hold off on updating to macOS Catalina. The software maker has discovered some performance issues with Serato DJ Lite and DJ Pro while testing the beta version of Apple’s upcoming operating system.

Here’s what Mojaxx has to say:

“At DJcity we always recommend that users hold off from doing major operating system updates until software developers and hardware manufacturers have given the definite all-clear for you to safely go ahead.

In the past, we’ve even seen new audio issues appear between the final beta and full releases of a new OS. So unless you absolutely HAVE to upgrade for some reason, we recommend you wait until you’re certain there won’t be problems.”

Stay tuned for more information from Serato.

Following his release of “Bass,” Arizona DJ/producer MGM, one-half of the duo Dibs & MGM, has returned with another big room track titled “Go.”

The single has been released by Tiesto‘s Musical Freedom label, which is distributed by Spinnin’ Records.

“I wanted to make a solid follow up to “Bass,” MGM says. Since I finished “Go” earlier this year, I felt that it was going to be a solid second club/festival track to add to the style and material I’ve been producing. The incredible people over at Musical Freedom agreed.”
