Last Fall, Arizona DJ/producer MGM, one-half of the duo Dibs & MGM, dropped a single titled “Bass.” The track fused electro house with riddim dubstep.

Now, 10 months later, “Bass” has been re-released by Tiesto‘s Musical Freedom label, which is distributed by Spinnin’ Records. It marks a milestone in MGM’s career.

“I was initially very self-conscious over original releases, but I knew getting over that was something that needed to happen,” MGM says. “After being independently released for about seven months, I got a SoundCloud message from Spinnin’ expressing their interest in the track after artists like Tiesto and The Chainsmokers had been supporting it.”

No. 6 Collaborations Project features a star-studded lineup. Sheeran teamed up with Justin Bieber on the first single, “I Don’t Care,” which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100. The album also includes collabs with Cardi B, Travis Scott, Chance The Rapper, and more.

On collaborating with other songwriters:

“By going into the studio with people like Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars [on the track “BLOW“] you’re just expanding your palate… you can’t become better unless you’re around people who can teach you things.”
