ETX and Fresco Remix Akon’s ‘Smack That’: DJcity Exclusive

Fresco. (Source: Fresco)

Texans unite as Dallas resident ETX and Austin’s Fresco join forces on this exclusive remix of Akon‘s 2006 single “Smack That.” To date, the hit song has sold 15 million-plus copies worldwide and reached #2 on America’s Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“ETX and I have been throwing ideas around for this remix for quite some time,” Fresco says. “The original song is a club classic, and we wanted to bring the energy much higher with a 4/4 beat while keeping some of the elements from the original. The result has a heavy tropical influence with a percussive drop that’s worked great on the dance floors.”

“’Smack That’ was a global success in its day,” ETX adds. “I felt it was time to give the track a fresh new sound. We wanted to raise the energy level with bigger drums which make it fit nicely in a club set.”

Preview the remix below and download it exclusively on DJcity.
