On Tuesday evening, police closed a busy stretch of the 101 Freeway near Universal City following the discovery a “suspicious package” in a vehicle involved in an accident. After calling in two bomb squads and examining the package for several hours, authorities eventually determined it was just DJ equipment.
It all started when officers on the scene contacted driver Serkan Runcay who “appeared nervous and continued looking toward the back seat of his vehicle.” An officer then found wires, lights and a suspicious case and believed he was transporting an “explosive device,” officials said.
