Disclosure and Sam Smith Cover Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ on BBC Radio 1

Disclosure and Sam Smith recently covered Drake’s “Hotline Bling” in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. The rendition was quite a bit different from the original but just as dope. Watch above and grab Drizzy’s version and Disclosure and Sam Smith’s single “Omen” on DJcity.

Drake’s “Hotline Bling” was the 24th most downloaded track on DJcity in August. It samples Timmy Thomas’ 1972 soul classic, “Why Can’t We Live Together.”

BPM 2015 Recap: Turntablism on the Rise

The eighth annual BPM event went down in Birmingham, England last weekend and DJcityTV’s Mojaxx was there to report.

BPM bills itself as “the biggest DJ and electronic music production event on Earth.” It is similar to US trade shows like NAMM and the DJ Expo, as it includes new products, live performances, seminars, and chances to network.

While the biggest equipment announcements were made earlier this year at NAMM and Germany’s Musikmesse, Mojaxx noticed there was a lack of controllers at BPM compared to previous years. In fact, he says that most of the new products and performances were turntable, DVS, or vinyl related.

Watch Mojaxx’s recap above, which includes new gear and interviews with most of the UK’s best turntablists: DJ Fong Fong, DJ Angelo, Mr Switch, JFB, Jon1st, and Ritchie Ruftone.
