DJ/producer Viceroy sat down with DJ Spider on this week’s episode of The 20 Podcast.

Viceroy is an electronic DJ, producer, and artist manager based in Los Angeles. He rose to prominence with his Jet Life series, which featured upbeat remixes of R&B classics like Ginuwine’s “Pony” and Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me.” Inspired to help his fellow artists, Viceroy also has his own management company (Kinfolk).

Viceroy’s remix of Jagged Edge’s “Where the Party At” was one the most downloaded tracks on DJcity in April. Now, the Bay Area DJ/producer has returned with a funky remix of Shaggy’s 2001 hit, “It Wasn’t Me,” the singer’s first number one in the US.

Viceroy Releases Nu-Disco Remix of Jagged Edge’s ‘Where The Party At’

In 2001, R&B group Jagged Edge scored a number one with their Nelly-assisted “Where the Party At.” Now, over a decade later, rising DJ/producer Viceroy has transformed the Jermaine Dupri-produced song into a nu-disco groover. Much like his previous remixes, the self-proclaimed “sultan of summer” added drums and synths while maintaining the original vibe.
