Melodics, a software application that helps DJs improve their finger drumming skills, has introduced a controller app for iOS.

“We’ve got tons of people [using] Melodics who don’t own a hardware controller,” Melodics CEO Sam Gribben said in a press release. “You can play with your laptop keyboard, but an iPhone or iPad is a much better experience.”

According to the press release, the iOS app is the first step in making the Melodics experience entirely mobile. “Our long-term plan is to be able to play Melodics on any mobile device,” Gribben said.

Melodics is developed in partnership with icons like DJ Jazzy Jeff, AraabMuzik, Jeremy Ellis, ESKEI83, and The Gaslamp Killer. The company offers a free version that comes with 20 lessons, along with a paid subscription that offers premium lessons and content.
