While many people consider Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly a masterpiece, the album isn’t as club-friendly as its predecessor. The project’s third single “King Kunta” oozes with funk, though, and the Sounwave and Terrace Martin-produced track has now received visuals. Watch the throwback video above, which was filmed in Kendrick’s hometown of Compton.

Watch Part Two of Dr. Dre’s Real 92.3 Interview

Dr. Dre gave a rare interview on Big Boy’s Real 92.3 radio show yesterday and now the second part of the conversation has been uploaded. The Doctor discussed a multitude of topics, but his comments about Kendrick Lamar’s new album To Pimp a Butterfly stood out the most.

“The whole ratchet thing was fun but it didn’t have the substance that I appreciate in music … Kendrick is bringing us back to that.”

Kendrick Lamar Drops New Track, ‘The Blacker The Berry’

UPDATE: DJcity now has the 192 kbps version. We’ll post the high-quality file when it becomes available.

Less than a day after winning two Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar dropped “The Blacker The Berry” — a new single from his highly-anticipated sophomore album. The track features gritty production from Boi-1da, The KOZ and Terrace Martin.

Based on what we’ve heard so far (“i,” an untitled song performed on The Colbert Report and this track), it’s safe to say K-Dot’s next album will sound quite a bit different from good kid, m.A.A.d city.
