Watch Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ Video

Ed Sheeran has dropped a video for his dancehall-influenced hit, “Shape of You,” which is currently No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The visual was filmed in Seattle and stars Sheeran alongside model and dancer Jennie Pegouskie, who’s toured with Macklemore.

“Shape of You” is the second single off Sheeran’s upcoming album, Divide.

Ed Sheeran Sued For Allegedly Copying Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’

Ed Sheeran is reportedly being sued over claims he copied Marvin Gaye‘s “Let’s Get It On” for his smash hit, “Thinking Out Loud.”

TMZ reports that the family of the co-writer of Gaye’s song, Ed Townsend, is taking legal action against Sheeran. The family alleges that Sheeran ripped off the melody, harmony, and rhythm of “Let’s Get It On” for his own track.

“Thinking Out Loud” won Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at this year’s Grammy awards and went multi-platinum around the world. The track is also Sheeran’s highest-charting solo single to date, having peaked at number two on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Both Gaye died in 1984 and Townsend passed away in 2003.

Ed Sheeran has an uncanny ability to transform hip-hop and R&B songs with his vocals and acoustic guitar. Over the last year, he’s reworked club anthems such as Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love,” Ty Dolla $ign’s “Paranoid” and O.T. Genasis’ “Coco” into completely different songs.
 
For his latest cover, Sheeran takes on one of the biggest raps singles in the world: Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen.” Watch above as Sheeran performs his impressive rendition on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” with backing from The Roots.

A few months back, we posted a video of Ed Sheeran covering Ty Dolla $ign’s “Paranoid” at the BBC Radio 1Xtra studio. Now, the English crooner is back with another acoustic cover, this time taking on O.T. Genasis’ “CoCo.” Yup, you read that right.

Ed Sheeran Covers Ty Dolla $ign’s ‘Paranoid’


 
English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeranis a fan of hip-hop.
 
The red-headed crooner first came across our radar when he was featured on Lupe Fiasco’s “Old School Love” back in 2013. Then, last month, rapper Game confirmed that he’s working on a joint album with Sheeran and have already recorded seven songs.
 
Now, a video has surfaced of Sheeran covering Ty Dolla $ign’s club hit, “Paranoid.” The Irish-style remake retains the original melody but updates the lyrics a little bit.
 
Sheeran’s Pharrell-produced single “Sing” was the 14th most-downloaded track on DJcity in April and is currently #16 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
