MØ Returns With Diplo-Produced Single ‘Kamikaze’

MØ

MØ, the Danish singer behind Major Lazer and DJ Snake’sLean On,” has followed up the worldwide smash with a single of her own, “Kamikaze.”

The 79 BPM song, which was produced by none other than Diplo, features MØ’s distinctive vocals over a Middle Eastern-flavored instrumental.

Although its popularity is unlikely to match that of “Lean On,” “Kamikaze” is a solid effort with the potential be MØ’s breakout solo single in the US.

New Music: Diplo’s ‘Set Me Free’ & ‘Be Right There’

Diplo released two strong tracks on his Mad Decent label this week that are must-listens for any club DJ.

The first single, “Be Right There,” is an uptempo collaboration with Canada’s Sleepy Tom that samples Jade’s 1992 R&B classic, “Don’t Walk Away.”

Diplo is one of the most influential figures in music right now, so it comes as no surprise that all kinds of media outlets are running stories about him.

The latest mainstream publication to feature the Major Lazer and Jack Ü member is none other than TIME. During a recent conversation about how he’s changing the face of pop music, Diplo revealed which artists he thinks people should watch out for.

Two of them, Denmark’s MØ and South Korea’s CL, are obvious choices as Diplo has already recorded tracks with both (most recently “Lean On” and “Doctor Pepper”).

The third artist, Tinashe, is a less predictable choice. Sure, the “2 On” singer has been supported and remixed by plenty of forward-thinking DJs and producers, but Diplo has yet to release a collab with her. That’ll all change this summer, though, when the Mad Decent chief says he’ll drop his first track with her.
