Las Vegas’ First DJ School Celebrates Grand Opening



Las Vegas’ first DJ school is celebrating its grand opening tomorrow, May 31, 2014.

Blend DJ Institute offers a wide range of classes from beginner to advanced using the most current equipment and software. Lessons focus on beat-matching, mixing transitions, scratch mixing, a cappella mixing and turntablism techniques.

Blend also offers courses in music production with programs such as Ableton, FL Studio, Logic Pro X and Reason. The instructors are seasoned DJs and producers with decades of experience performing at clubs in Vegas and around the world.

The music video arrives a day after Iggy became the second artist ever to top Billboard’s Hot 100 chart at number one and two with her first two singles (the other being “Fancy”), a feat only matched by the Beatles in 1964.

Phoenix DJ Houses Homeless Mother and Daughter



Ramses Ja from Phoenix’s 101.1 FM The Beat is keeping busy off the air. The Arizona native is currently working with a non-profit called #HashtagLunchbag that provides food to the homeless.

Earlier today, we came across a story on KTAR.com about how Ramses helped find housing for a 5-year-old girl and her mother.

It all began when the DJ discovered the girl digging through trash during one of his recent outings. When he approached the girl and her mom, he learned that they can’t stay in a shelter because kids aren’t allowed.

Compelled to help, Ramses gave them $25 — all the money he had in his wallet — and asked the mom to wait 48 hours for additional assistance.
