Instagram Launches Dedicated Music Channel

Instagram is the preferred platform to connect with fans by many musicians. The company recognizes this and also has a passion for music, so today they launched a dedicated account @music to share sounds from around the globe.
Founder and CEO Kevin Systrom wrote:
“Each week, we’ll take a look at the musical experience on Instagram. That means showing you a different side of artists you know and love, like Questlove (@questlove), and introducing you to up-and-coming talents from around the world, like Tricot (@ikkyu193). It means highlighting music photographers, album illustrators, instrument makers and, of course, fans. In the Instagram tradition, we will also welcome community participation with a new, music-themed monthly hashtag project.”
Instagram’s official account, which showcases content from its users, currently boasts 65 million followers. The company’s @music account has already amassed over 50,000 since its creation yesterday.
