Dr. Dre Signs Jon Connor to Aftermath [Video]


Dr. Dre has helped launch and mould the careers of rappers such as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Xzibit, 50 Cent, Game and Kendrick Lamar. With a track record like that, it only makes sense that the world takes notice when he signs an artist to his Aftermath label.

Enter Jon Connor — a talented and hungry MC from Flint, Michigan who has risen through the underground during the last couple of years.

Last night, during the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards, Connor made history with his cypher freestyle by announcing that he’s signed to Aftermath.

In this exclusive interview with DJcityTV, the Maryland-born artist discusses his rise to the top, why he’s different and what to expect from him in the future.

During the interview, Carnage discusses how the The Cataracs helped propel his career and how hip-hop has influenced him. He also teases an upcoming project which sounds like something we definitely want to hear:

“People are about to be very confused. I’m about to do something very big — with one of the biggest DJs in the world. It’s going to be really, really, really, weird, strange — I’m gonna piss a lot of people off but it’s gonna be amazing.”

Eddie Murphy Releases Reggae Track with Snoop Lion


Actor/comedian/musician Eddie Murphy has gone reggae and collaborated with Snoop Lion on a new single titled, “Red Light.” The track is from Murphy’s upcoming solo album, 9, which is slated to be released early 2014. We didn’t know Eddie got down like this!
