Former Thre3style World Finalist DJ REN Drops Mix for DJcity Japan

We received a lot of positive feedback when we posted DJ IKU’s mix for DJcity Japan last week. Today, we are sharing another intriguing episode, this time mixed by Tokyo’s DJ REN — a finalist in the 2014 Thre3style World Championship. REN’s half-hour mix is packed with 58 tracks and contains plenty of scratches, tone play, and blends. And like IKU’s mix, it’s impressive in terms of both selection and execution. One of the most talked about performances at this year’s Ultra Music Festival has been Martin Garrix’s on Saturday night. The 18-year-old’s main stage set featured a surprise guest appearance from Usher, who performed his new collaboration with Garrix, “Don’t Look Down.” In addition to playing some of his biggest tracks, Garrix also debuted unreleased collaborations with Oliver Heldens, Avicii, and Tiësto. South Africa’s DJ Shameless on ‘Bedroom Sessions’


 
Since launching in summer 2013, DJcityTV’s “Bedroom Sessions” has featured DJs from North America, Europe and Asia. Today, the series travels to Africa for the first time, where South Africa’s DJ Shameless throws down a brief yet entertaining mix that’s heavy on tone play. The Durban native is an experienced party rocker and battle DJ, and his three-and-a-half-minute session showcases both of these styles.
