World’s Highest-Paid Hip-Hop Acts of 2016

Forbes has released its 2016 Hip-Hop Cash Kings list, and Diddy took the crown for the second year straight by earning an estimated $62 million. Holding the number two spot is Jay Z, followed by fellow mogul Dr. Dre in third. Another notable entry is Kanye West, who ranked seventh in 2015 but didn’t make this year’s top 10.

Here’s how Forbes came up with the ranking:

“We consider pretax income from touring, record sales, streaming, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other business ventures. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted. Earnings are calculated from June 2015 to June 2016 and based on data from Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, Bandsintown, the RIAA and from interviews with managers, lawyers, executives and a handful of the artists themselves.”
