Up-and-coming producer Teddy Walton has explained how he made Kendrick Lamar’s hit single “LOVE.” in a new episode of Genius’ Deconstructed. The track, which features singer/songwriter Zacari, peaked at No. 11 on Billboard’s Hot 100. It currently sits at No. 12 in its 30th week on the chart.

Walton is best known for producing A$AP Rocky‘s 2015 single “Electric Body,” and GoldLink‘s platinum hit, “Crew.” He also produced four tracks for Bryson Tiller‘s 2017 album, True to Self.

The Memphis native discusses his production style and recounts how he got to meet and work with Kendrick. He then breaks down the track in FL Studio.

The artistic visual finds K.Dot experiencing the highs and lows of a romantic relationship. It follows his videos for “ELEMENT.,” “LOYALTY.,” “DNA.,” and “HUMBLE.
