Watch 1Mind Explain How They Produced French Montana’s ‘Unforgettable’

1Mind

Indianapolis trio 1Mind has detailed down how they produced French Montana and Swae Lee‘s hit single “Unforgettable” on Genius’ latest Deconstructed episode. The dancehall-influenced track is currently No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

1Mind, which consists of Sebastian Lopez, Mac Sutphin, and Michael Lohmeier, has produced songs for Lil Yachty and Tory Lanez. They’ve also worked with Canadian reggae artist Ramriddlz, who Sutphin credits as an influence on the vibe of “Unforgettable.”

In the video, Sutphin breaks down the main elements of the track, which was produced using Reason. He says they originally made the beat for Drake, but the rapper passed on it. Lopez adds that the song went through several versions before French eventually claimed it.

“Unforgettable” appears on French’s new album, Jungle Rules, and is the rapper’s first top 10 hit on Billboard’s Hot 100. It’s also Swae’s first appearance on the top 10 as a solo artist.
