Brooklyn DJ and turntablist Dstrukt has shared a video of his routine from the DMC New York City Regional Battle, which took place in April. The video also includes some “extra” parts.
 
Dstrukt is a member of Battle Ave, a renowned turntablism record label that recently teamed up with DJcity for an upcoming tour.

Watch DJ Dstrukt Make a Track Out of Scratch Samples

There are hundreds, if not thousands of scratch videos on the Internet that use the ubiquitous “ahh” and “fresh” samples. There’s nothing wrong with that — some of our favorite routines use them — but we love it when DJs think outside the box and work with different sounds.
 
A great example of this is a routine from DJ Dstrukt that uses Battle Ave’s new TRIAD Breaks. The video shows the Brooklyn turntablist making a new track out of samples from the record, which will be available on Black Friday. Watch below.
