Snoop Dogg Buys Death Row Records

In 1993, Snoop Dogg dropped his debut album Doggystyle on Death Row Records. Nearly 30 years later, the iconic West Coast rapper and entrepreneur has bought the label, which had been owned by MNRK Music Group (formerly eOne Music).

Co-founded by Suge Knight and Dr. Dre in the early ’90s, Death Row has been home to iconic hip-hop artists like 2Pac, Dre, and Snoop.

Snoop said in a statement:

“I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value … It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.”

In 2021, Beatsource teamed up with Death Row and JetPack to design a limited edition DJ bag in celebration of the label’s 30th anniversary. Watch the unboxing video below and order the bag here.
