Hearing-impaired DJ Tells His Inspirational Story
Hearing-impaired Dubspot alumni Robbie Wilde tells his story of learning how to DJ and studying under DJ Shiftee. Robbie explains how Shiftee taught him about “muscle memory” and utilizing waveforms to become a proficient DJ.
Robbie has performed live with Ryan Leslie, Omarion, Kim Sozzi, Miguel Cole and alongside DJ Spinbad, DJ Sizzahands, DJ Riz, and Oscar G. He’s also been featured in a Windows 8 TV commercial and DJed a private party for the Pittsburg Steelers.
“I don’t want to be looked at as a deaf kid trying to DJ, but a great DJ who happens to be deaf. I hope that my story gets out there and truly inspires those who have the odds stacked against them. Believe in yourself and there is no limit to what you can do.”
