DJ Neil Armstrong is one of the busiest guys we know. Though best known for being Jay Z’s tour DJ from 2008 to 2009, the New Yorker has built a successful solo career as a club DJ and currently serves as a global music ambassador for Adidas.

Armstrong is also the proud owner of a dog named Poh, which he adopted from an animal shelter back in 1999. Unfortunately, the 15-year-old canine has several health problems and veterinarians have concluded that he won’t live much longer.

Torn between working on the road and spending time with his long-time companion, Armstrong, his fiance, and Poh began driving cross-country in early March. So far, they’ve visited 35 cities and traveled around 12,000 miles.

“My life is kind of hectic,” Armstrong told ABC News. “I’m always traveling, but Poh is my home, my child. I think this resonated with a lot of dog owners. They wish they could do stuff like this with their dog and spend these moments, but sometimes life gets in the way.”

Being the savvy marketer that he is, Armstrong went one step further and created an Instagram account to document Poh’s travels. Within weeks, the profile blew up and Armstrong has received a lot of positive comments — not to mention news coverage.

Here’s some of our favorite photos from the trip.
