DJ Dahi Makes a Beat With Three Random Records

Mass Appeal has featured acclaimed hip-hop producer DJ Dahi in its Rhythm Roulette series. The series challenges producers to make a beat by sampling three random records, chosen from a local record store while blindfolded.

A native of Los Angeles, Dahi made a name for himself in 2012 when he produced Dom Kennedy’s “My Type of Party.” He has since produced or co-produced anthems like Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees,” Drake’s “Worst Behavior,” Big Sean’s “I Don’t F#ck With You,” and ScHoolboy Q’s “Hell of a Night.”

Watch above to see Dahi make a track with three records, which he picked up at Amoeba Music in Hollywood.
