New and Notable Tracks: Feb. 3

New tracks that DJs should know about.
T-Pain will forever be associated with auto-tune, thanks to a massively successful run in the mid-2000s which saw him at the top of the charts. The 30-year-old can hold it down without the technology though, as a new video from NPR Music shows.
It’s pretty amazing to hear Tallahassee Pain sing songs like “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’),” “Up Down (Do This All Day)” and “Drankin’ Patna” assisted by only a keyboardist and his own vocal cords.
“People felt like I was using [auto-tune] to sound good . . . But I was just using it to sound different.”
