How Steve Aoki Used DIY Tactics to Build an Empire

Steve Aoki is best known as one of EDM’s most successful acts but few are aware that he got his start as an independent artist in the punk and hardcore scenes while working two jobs and going to college. During an inspiring interview with Radio.com, Aoki discussed why those scenes appealed to him and how he applied their DYI concepts to DJing, producing and running a dance label. Like him or not, the methods Aoki used are proven and can be applied to any genre.
