GI Selects.
Nairobi’s GI Selects represents for Kenya on his mix for the DJcity Podcast. His half-hour set showcases the best R&B, Afrobeats and genge music from his home country and Africa at large. It also features tracks from GI Selects’ upcoming EP Doba za Wagenge, a collaboration with emerging artist Lastii. The title of the EP translates as “music for the people/the gang.”
GI’s award-winning reputation has made him a go-to DJ for a number of artists including Barak Jacuzzi, and events like ShrapNite and Paddock Experience. He won Alternative DJ of the Year at the 2019 Café Ngoma Awards and was nominated for DJ of the Year at the 2020 Unkut HipHop Awards.
