Deadmau5 Launches His Own Subscription Service

Deadmau5 aka Joel Zimmerman is no stranger to experimentation. He’s also earned a reputation for engaging with fans on a deeper level than many artists.

Last week, the Toronto-based DJ/producer launched his own subscription service as an alternative to Spotify, Rdio and Google Play. Deadmau5’s new platform goes beyond those services though by providing access to exclusive tracks, free downloads, live streams, photos and more. Because it’s his company, deadmau5 controls the costs, distribution and collects 100% of the payouts.

Fans that pay $4.99/month or $44.99/year will get (in his words), “unparalleled access to everything I share, plus regular live webcasts.” There’s also a free version that includes thirty-second clips, photos, videos, and a limited number of live streams.

You can experiment with his new subscription service here.
