T.I. Returns to The Breakfast Club


 
With the release of his Paperwork album last week, T.I. stopped by Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” to catch up and discuss the project. The legendary Atlanta rapper spoke candidly on a number of topics, including his recent trip to Africa, acting in the upcoming movie Ant-Man, Iggy Azalea and Snoop Dogg’s beef, and more.
 
The first two singles from Paperwork, “No Mediocre” and “About the Money”, have both received extensive club and radio play.

Tinashe Talks Debut Album ‘Aquarius’


 
With her debut album Aquarius out now, rising R&B singer-songwriter Tinashe stopped by Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” to discuss the project, along with her career beginnings, working with Drake, the pressures of being successful, and more.
 
Best known for her number one hit “2 On,” Tinashe is also featured on Kid Ink’s latest single, “Body Language,” which was the second most-downloaded track on DJcity in September.

Mary J. Blige Talks Working with Disclosure on New Album


 
Legendary R&B singer Mary J. Blige recently spoke with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club about the evolution of her career and upcoming album, The London Sessions. During the interview, Blige revealed that the album was inspired by the positive response from her collaboration with Disclosure on “F Is For You” and her interest in the UK club scene. Blige also discussed working with JAY Z, her favorite current artists, and more.
 

“[Disclosure’s] music sounds like what we grew up on.”

 
The London Sessions is scheduled for November 24 and also features Sam Smith, Naughty Boy, and Emeli Sandé. The lead single from the album is titled “Therapy.”

Last week, DJ Drama topped by “The Breakfast Club” to catch up and discuss new music. The interview took an unexpected turn though when co-host DJ Envy spoke candidly about his disappointment regarding a failed mixtape collaboration between Drama and the show (skip to the 12:33 mark).
 
The two proceeded to go back and forth about the issue on live radio, eventually coming to a mutual understanding and settling the dispute. Their discussion sheds light on the tricky situations that DJs and other music industry professionals often face.
