Traktor DJ 2 First Look and Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 Review

On this week’s episode of Tips and Tricks, Mojaxx takes a look at two new offerings from Native Instruments.

The Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 updates the controller to make it more beginner-friendly. Also aimed at beginners, the Traktor DJ 2 app now includes the ability to stream music using SoundCloud Go+ among other improvements.

Watch: DJ Worm Performs at 3Style IX World Finals

DJ Worm, the Red Bull Music 3Style Russia champion, delivered a performance for DJcityTV during the IX World Finals week.

In his routine, the Moscow-based turntablist flipped Russian producer Tapecut‘s track “give it to me” and Travis Scott‘s hit “SICKO MODE.”

Watch DJ Switch’s ‘Bedroom Sessions’ Routine

DJ Switch, an award-winning DJ/songwriter from Nigeria, has delivered a mix for DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions. In her set, the 34-year old party rocker mixes throwback hits with moombahton and bass music.

In 2009, Switch’s group Da Pulse won the musical competition reality show Star Quest. She went on to win the show Glo X-Factor in 2013, earning the artist a recording contract with Sony Music.

Eli Escobar & DJ Goldfinger Talk Playing Long Sets on ‘R.O.A.D. Podcast’

Eli Escobar and DJ Goldfinger, two veterans of the New York City club scene, sat down with the R.O.A.D. Podcast this week. The renowned DJs discussed how to approach long sets, the effect that the 9/11 tragedy had on nightlife, and more.

DJ/producer Eli Escobar has been a fixture in New York’s house and disco scenes for over two decades. His records have been released on classic labels like Nervous and Strictly Rhythm, as well as his own label Night People. Goldfinger is a DJ and producer from Brooklyn. He started DJing at the age of seven and went on to work at the iconic Beat Street record store.

Bad Boy Bill and Richard Vission

After a two month break, DJcity’s MikiDz Show live stream returned on Monday with house legends Bad Boy Bill and Richard Vission. The two performed a B2B set, which included records that they pressed exclusively for their “Back to Vinyl” tour.

The hour-long throw down, which broke the show’s peak live viewers record, featured a variety of new and classic house. A former DMC competitor, Bill also showed off his turntablism skills.

Following the performance, Bill and Richard spoke with hosts MikiWAR and DJ Dainjazone about the current dance scene, their advice to aspiring producers, and more.

DJ Soak Performs ‘Run Away’ Feat. Anderson .Paak With Drummer

DJ Soak

DJ Soak, a former DMC and ITF champ from Spain, performs his single “Run Away” featuring Anderson .Paak with drummer Santiidrums.

The video was filmed at Valencia’s renowned museum Centre del Carme. The hand sculpture in the background was created exclusively for the video by local artist Gasso Gomez Vicent.
