“I Want To Have As Many People Hearing My Stuff As Possible…” Inside The Edit with Trayze

The Beatsource DJ Exclusives program has been 20 years in the making. It’s built around an entirely new, never been done licensing model, and means that DJs can access the types of remixes and edits which have previously only been found on record pools, but in a way which ensures both the original rights holders and the DJs themselves get fairly compensated for their work.

In this first episode of our new series, Inside The Edit, Mojaxx talks to Trayze, the Washington DC based DJ and producer, about his history of making edits, and why he’s excited to be part of the program.

What’s Going Wrong With CDJs?

There’s trouble in the standalone world, as over recent weeks, DJs have found themselves unable to access their music libraries on CDJ-3000X and CDJ-3000 players. Things got so bad, over the Halloween weekend, that AlphaTheta had to withdraw the latest firmware release for the 3000s. On the new episode of Beatsource Tech, Mojaxx explains what has been happening, how exporting from Rekordbox works, and how to ensure you have a fully working drive with both the older Device Library, and the Device Library Plus/One Library databases.

OneLibrary Will Change The DJ Tech Industry – For Good!

A common, shared music library across different DJ apps has been a dream of many DJs for a long time. Today, we come one step closer to that with the launch of One Library, a collaboration between AlphaTheta, Native Instruments and Algoriddim. It means that tracks in their three DJ apps – Rekordbox, Traktor and djay, all now share the same format for cues, loops and beatgrids, and that data can be easily transferred between them. Mojaxx takes a first look at this industry-changing story on the new episode of Beatsource Tech.

Native Instruments Traktor MX2: The Best DJ Controller For Beginners?

Traktor, from Native Instruments, still has a loyal fanbase of users, especially in the electronic music scene. But in discussions around entry level beginner DJing, they’re rarely in the conversation in 2025. The company are looking to change that with the launch of their new affordable controller, the Traktor MX2, so on the new episode of Beatsource Tech we give it a full review and ask – is this enough?

What’s Your Bag? Reviewing Magma’s Fall Lineup

Companies who make bags and cases for DJs have to constantly refresh their lineups in order to accommodate new gear releases, and industry trends. On the new episode of Beatsource Tech, Mojaxx takes a look at the latest additions to the Magma Bags range, which includes a new travel case for larger controllers, a crossbody bag, a bag to organise all your cables and small items, and a reissue of a beloved – if rather niche – 45 trolley.
