Da Phonk & Rogerson Remix Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’: DJcity Exclusive

Dutch duo Da Phonk and Rogerson‘s latest remix is a low-end-heavy take on Lady Gaga‘s 2008 hit “Poker Face,” available exclusively on DJcity. Upping the ante on pace and power here, this features the original vocals, plus an extended breakdown after the chorus. This one is definitely aimed at getting peak hour club spins.

The duo offered their thoughts on the remix: “After our ‘Pon De Replay’ Remix went to #1 on the DJcity charts, we decided to team up again & this time we took a classic song by Lady Gaga and made it into a pumping 2020 version,” Da Phonk says. Rogerson continues, “We wanted to create another crazy build-up with the chorus and have a massive drop with the typical Lady Gaga synth, and gave the song even more energy with a groovy bassline.”

Safety First!. (Source: Safety First!)

Veteran Manchester-based DJ/producer Safety First! has released a DJcity exclusive remix of Salt-N-Pepa‘s hip-hop classic “Push It.”

Originally released in 1987, “Push It” allowed Hot, Cool and Vicious – the female rap group’s debut album – to become the first platinum-selling rap album for female artists. In 2011, Rolling Stone listed the song as one of the 500 greatest of all time.

Thumping house vibes replace synth-heavy breaks in Safety First!’s remix. “I wanted to do a more contemporary version of this that felt good in a club but still used the full vocal without sounding cheesy,” the remixer says.
