Vekked Wins 2015 DMC World DJ Championship

Canadian turntablist Vekked took the crown at the DMC World DJ Championship on Sunday. His accomplishment comes after winning the DMC Online DJ Championship in July.
The second and third place world championship winners were New Zealand’s DJ Spell and the USA’s DJ Precision, respectively.
Vekked has since received an outpouring of support from turntablists around the world, including heavyweights Craze, Total Eclipse, and Four Color Zack.

The other winners on Sunday were DJ Precision and 9 O’Clock, who took the DMC World Supremacy and DMC World Team championships, respectively.

After four years and two runner-up finishes, Canada’s Vekked has won the 2015 DMC Online DJ Championship.
The Waterloo native’s routine, which was posted in mid-July, has since gone viral and received coverage from numerous websites. It currently has over 700,000 YouTube views.
As part of the prize, Vekked will perform at the DMC World Final on October 4 in London.

Canadian turntablist Vekked has uploaded his final entry to the 2015 DMC Online DJ Championship. The Waterloo native’s six-minute routine is one of the cleanest and most technical we’ve ever seen from him.

Vekked’s DMC Online Championship Fifth-Round Routine
The 2015 DMC Online Championship began in March, and one of the best routines we’ve seen so far is Vekked’s fifth-round entry. Watch above as the Canadian turntablist shreds through a two-minute routine that includes a variety of classic hip-hop samples.
The final round of the DMC Online Championship begins on July 15, and the winner will be announced on July 29. You can vote for Vekked’s fifth-round entry here.
Vekked won the DMC World Supremacy Championship in 2012, the IDA World Championships in 2012 and 2013 and is one-half of turntablist duo The Fresherthans.

There are numerous turntablist groups but only a fraction of them produce their own music.
Enter The Fresherthans: a recently formed duo comprised of Canadian DJs Brace and Vekked. Both these guys have individually won awards, and in 2014, took second place in their first two competitions as a group: the DMC World Finals and the IDA World DJ Championships.
