On Monday, veteran DJ and mixtape legend Neil Armstrong<\/a> performed the first-ever all-vinyl set on DJcity’s MikiDz Show<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Equipped with dozens of records, Armstrong reminded DJs of what it was like in the pre-Serato days. He also schooled viewers on the art of sampling, by playing classic tracks back-to-back with the hip-hop hits that sampled them. It was a journey through music history.<\/p>\n

Armstrong’s interview with hosts MikiWAR<\/a> and DJ Dainjazone<\/a> was just as interesting. The New York native discussed his legendary mixtapes, what it was like being Jay Z’s tour DJ, Shortkut’s influence on him, among other topics.<\/p>\n
