Rising DJ/producer James Hype has teamed up with in-demand singer Kelli-Leigh for a summer house anthem, “More Than Friends.” The track combines bass-heavy UK production with the lyrics from En Vogue’s 1996 R&B classic, “Don’t Let Go (Love).”

A staple in UK house music, Leigh is best known for singing on hits like Duke Dumont‘s “I Got U” and Secondcity’s “I Wanna Feel.” In 2011, she collaborated with the Bingo Players on the anthem “Cry (Just a Little).”

James tells us:

“I started to make ‘More Than Friends’ over a year ago and just couldn’t quite get it where I wanted it. Then by chance, I hooked up with Kelli-Leigh on Twitter, and everything quickly fell into place. Being the first vocal I ever recorded, it opened my eyes to a whole new level of songwriting past just making beats. So after a year of re-recording and road testing the track, it’s finally ready to light up every club’s dance floor.”
