Hi-Tek Makes a Beat With Three Random Records

Mass Appeal has featured legendary hip-hop producer Hi-Tek in their popular Rhythm Roulette series. The series challenges producers to make a beat by sampling three random records, chosen from a local record store while blindfolded.

Hi-Tek has served as a staff producer for Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label since the mid-2000s, where he’s crafted tracks for Snoop Dogg, The Game, 50 Cent, and most recently Anderson .Paak.

Before joining Aftermath, Tek was signed to Rawkus Records and contributed production to classic albums like Mos Def and Talib Kweli’s Black Star and Talib Kweli’s Train of Thought.

Watch above to see Tek put his skills to the test.
