Uber Partners with Spotify to Let Passengers Become Backseat ‘DJs’

Uber

Uber rides are about to get more fun, thanks to a new partnership between Spotify and the popular ridesharing service.

Starting November 21, users will be able to select music via the Uber app when they request a ride. The music will be playing on the speakers when the ride arrives, and users can also change what’s playing during their journey through the Spotify and Uber apps.

The new integration, available to all Uber and Spotify Premium users on iOS and Android (in beta), will initially launch in 10 cities: London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Nashville, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney and Toronto. The integration will continue to roll out globally over the coming weeks.

Uber and Spotify are kicking off the partnership with special events in the launch cities. The events include ride-alongs and live sessions with artists such as Diplo and Matt and Kim.
