Porter Robinson Talks Moving Away from Big Room EDM

Porter Robinson

Superstar DJ/producer Porter Robinson is no stranger to experimentation. While previously known for producing more conventional big room tracks, the North Carolina native took a risk in 2012 with “Language,” a song that not only paid off financially but opened a new chapter in his career.

In a recent interview with Radio.com, Robinson discussed why he moved away from making big room tracks, his beginnings as a bedroom producer, the current state of electronic music, and more.

“I didn’t have this goal to be the next number one DJ in the world — I just kept taking the opportunities that were being given to me and doing my best at all of them and trying to DJ in a way that I would enjoy.”
